Summer Time Operation

Lifts are made on the hour and half hour.

Signal to open: one long sound and one short sound.

Commercial Vessels have the right to ask for a lift at any time. The following is a list of recognized commercial craft:

1. Coast Guard

2. Star of Life (a rescue boat)

3. Trojan (Jack's Marine)

4. Sonny II (bum boat)

5. Fishing tugs

6. Musky II (Gov't Geodetic Survey)

7. Corps of Engineers (Cotty)

8. Corps of Engineers (North Bay)

9. Sutherland Marine (on request)

Winter Operations:

The bridge is closed from December 15th to March 31 by written request annually from the Coast Guard in Cleveland. If openings are required during this time, 12 hours notice must be made by calling the county highway garage at 576-2816.
